The California Lab Science Career Project addresses that growing demand for qualified lab technicians in California

StudentOur program is designed to increase available workforce to fill currently open positions as Medical Lab Technicians (MLT), Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS) and Clinical Genetic Microbiological Scientists (CGMBS). Additionally, our program increases educational capacity to train individuals to fill currently open positions and address the projected need in the coming years for thousands of new positions.


In addition we are focused on guiding veterans who qualifiy to transition from military to civilian service. Veterans may be qualified to take advantage of our program, especially those that have training or have worked in hospital or laboratory environments during their term of service.Military


We seek to better understand the types of training and experience military personnel are receiving and upon separation, be able to easily transfer them into high paying jobs in the lab sciences sector in California or assist them in getting required training/education in order to qualify to fill these positions.

New MS Meets Clinical Lab Demand

Dominican University of California will launch a master’s program in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) with an emphasis in Molecular Diagnostics in fall 2013. The program, which will be the only CLS master’s program in California, comes at a time when demand for trained clinical laboratory scientists is growing both in California and throughout the United States.


NMU science department works to fill job openings

MARQUETTE -- Northern Michigan University's Clinical Science Department is holding workshops for high school teachers and professionals in the field.

Thursday was the first of the two workshops. The workshops address the basics of DNA and advancements made in disease diagnosis. NMU's Clinical Science Department is in elite company nationwide in terms of offering nationally-accredited programs.
